Our Story
Established in 2017, Time Squared Architect is a full-service architectural firm based in Hillsborough, New Jersey, committed to delivering exceptional design solutions for our clients throughout the state. We have proudly served our local community across a wide range of project types, including new construction, renovations, additions, waterfront and coastal design, and other unique architectural challenges.
Our name reflects our core philosophy: time is our clients' most valuable asset. Every decision we make, from our design process to our project management, is built around respecting that time and making the most of it on your behalf. We believe great architecture shouldn't come at the cost of unnecessary delays or wasted effort, so we work efficiently and deliberately at every stage of your project.
That philosophy is grounded in a client-focused approach. We take pride in doing the right thing for the people we serve, even when it isn't the easiest or most profitable path for us. Our mission is to provide outstanding design while ensuring our clients save both time and money, working to expedite your construction project from concept through completion so you can enjoy your new space as quickly as possible, without sacrificing quality or attention to detail.
Matthew Pultorak, AIA, MBA, WELL-AP
As founder and owner of Time Squared Architect, I bring extensive experience managing projects of all sizes, from small interior alterations to large ground-up buildings with budgets exceeding $50 million. My work spans unique residential projects, fast-paced commercial development, and government contract work across the United States.
I hold an undergraduate degree from the New Jersey Institute of Technology and a Master of Business Administration from Louisiana State University. I am a licensed architect, a WELL Accredited Professional, and an active member within the American Institute of Architects (AIA), bringing both design expertise and business discipline to every project I take on.
I take particular pride in my contributions to rebuilding Jersey Shore communities after Hurricane Sandy, and in adding to the architectural fabric of the local communities I call home. Founded in 2017 and based in Hillsborough, New Jersey, Time Squared Architect was built on the belief that great design should never come at the cost of a client's time or budget.
As a family-oriented individual with strong community ties, I'm committed to giving back through pro-bono design services and volunteer work advancing the architecture profession.
Meet the Architects
Pouya Zhand, RA, AIA, NCARB
With a global architectural education and a deep interest in the philosophy of space, Pouya brings a thoughtful, design-driven approach to every project. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Cardiff University in the United Kingdom and his Master of Architecture from Syracuse University, where he served as a Studio Design Teaching Assistant and received the Alpha Rho Chi Medal for Leadership, Service, and Professional Merit — one of the highest honors awarded by the School of Architecture.
With nearly a decade of professional experience, Pouya has worked on a diverse range of projects, including custom homes, multifamily residential developments, mixed-use buildings, hospitality, and higher education facilities. This breadth of experience informs a rigorous design process that balances creativity, technical precision, and careful attention to detail.
His work is influenced by the principles of phenomenology — the study of how we experience architecture through light, materials, proportion, and movement through space. For homeowners, this translates into environments that feel intentional, refined, and deeply connected to the way they live. Pouya approaches each project as an opportunity to craft spaces that are timeless, personal, and enduring.
