Forest Edge Cabin Addition

Forest Edge Cabin Addition is a 500-square-foot primary suite addition to an existing log cabin in New Jersey. Set within a wooded landscape, the project expands the home with a new primary bedroom, walk-in closet, and ensuite bathroom while preserving the quiet, rustic character of the original cabin.

The design approach is intentionally sensitive: rather than overpowering the existing structure, the addition is conceived as a natural extension of the cabin’s life in the woods. The goal is to improve comfort, privacy, and daily function while respecting the scale, material warmth, and retreat-like atmosphere that make the original home special.

Construction is scheduled to begin this summer, with progress and final photography to follow. As the project evolves, it will document the transformation of a modest woodland cabin into a more complete and livable retreat.
